Volunteers needed: REM sleep disorder study

OVERVIEW OF THE STUDY : 
ULB masters student Manon Becks is investigating the impact of REM sleep behaviour disorder on cognitive function in people with Parkinson’s disease. She is looking for volunteers aged over 65, with and without Parkinson’s disease, to participate.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
4 different participant profiles:

        • Group 1 : 
          Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 
          Over 65 years old
          Suffering from REM sleep behaviour disorder
    • Group 2 :
      Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
      Over 65 years of age
      Does not suffer from REM sleep behaviour disorder


  • Group 3: 
    Not diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
    Over 65 years of age
    Has REM sleep behaviour disorder

  • Group 4:
    Not diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
    Over 65 years of age
    Does not suffer from REM sleep behaviour disorder

WHEN?
Participants can join the study until mid-April.

HOW ?
Two one-hour sessions during which neuropsychological tests will be performed. If acceptable to the participant, testing can take place at their home.
