Organise an event
Why your event matters, and how you can make it happen
Each of us has the ability to make a difference. When you organise an event in support of the Demoucelle Parkinson Charity, you help turn hope into real progress for Parkinson’s research.
Anything is possible—events can be simple or elaborate, small gatherings or community moments. You don’t need to be a professional organiser. Sometimes, people hesitate because they feel unsure where to begin, but with a clear idea and the right support, getting started is often easier than expected. What matters most is the commitment behind the action.
It is not the scale of the initiative that matters, but the collective energy and commitment behind it.

Real examples: simple ideas that work
Successful events are often built around what you already enjoy. Here are three simple ways people choose to support us:
Host a Sale
Turn your talents or hobbies into research funds. A bake sale, a picture or painting sale, or even a craft market.
Organise a Social Gathering
Bring people together for a shared moment, such as a charity dinner, a quiet social event at home, or a themed evening in your community.
Create an Activity Event
Encourage movement by organising a cycling tour, a local running event, or a community walk.
Everyday moments and personal passions become meaningful when shared for a greater purpose.

From idea to impact
Funds raised through your initiatives directly support disease-modifying research.
Experience has shown us that most successful events follow five simple steps:
1
Decide on your idea, where and when
Choose a time and place that suit your rhythm and your community.
2
Enlist help
Ask friends, family, or colleagues for support. Experience shows they are usually very happy to help.
3
Tell people what you are doing
Get in touch with people you know, talk about it, and spread the word clearly.
4
Be prepared
Keep your plan simple and always have a “Plan B” ready just in case.
5
Say thank you
Don’t forget to tell everyone how much was raised and express your gratitude to those who contributed.
You don’t need to have everything figured out from the start. Starting with a clear intention is often the most important step.
Don’t wait until you have a complete plan to begin. The most important thing is to start.
