The cerebellum could play a considerable role in the balance and walking disorders associated with the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ULB researchers in charge of this study aim to test volunteers using a dynamic posture analysis platform, a motion capture system and recordings of motor evoked potentials, before and after non-invasive stimulation of the cerebellum. The study will help to assess whether stimulation in this way improves movement control, including posture and balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>INCLUSION CRITERIA:<\/strong><br\/>\nAdult patients.<br\/>\nNo other problems affecting posture or walking.<br\/>\nNo pace-maker, intracranial clips or other cerebral implant.<br\/>\nNot pregnant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LOCATION:<\/strong><br\/>\nHalf a day on site, at the Erasme Hospital in Brussels (3 hours max), to be repeated once if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PROCEDURE:<\/strong><br\/>\nPosture analyses will be carried out before and after installation of an anode (\u2018wet sponge\u2019 style) on the skull and a cathode on the shoulder (non-invasive procedure). These analyses are necessary to objectively quantify the changes associated with stimulation.
