Building on the success of last year\u2019s inaugural tournament at Mont Garni, several other clubs have decided to add a Parkinson\u2019s research tournament to their calendars, in conjunction with AFGolf, the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Royale Belge de Golf and INSEAD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parkinson\u2019s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that is often characterized by tremors, muscle\u00a0rigidity,\u00a0and other movement difficulties, and mostly affects people over the age of 60. \u00a0There is currently no cure for this fast-growing condition however sport, and in particular golf, has been shown to be helpful in controlling the symptoms alongside medical treatments. Combining an active lifestyle with a social dimension, such as is offered by golf club membership, also helps Parkinson\u2019s patients to feel connected which is good for their mental and emotional wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/demoucelle.sites-stag.agency\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/DPC-Instagram-Posts-2023-14-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"- Demoucelle Parkinson Charity\" width=\"324\" height=\"324\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.demoucelle.com\/blog\/charity-post\/golf-tournaments\/attachment\/dpc-instagram-posts-2023-14\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-13286 noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>As such, the following golf clubs have announced their intention to host one-day tournaments as part of the \u2018\u2019Demoucelle Golf Series\u2019\u2019 to support research to find a cure for this disease, which currently affects 40,000 people in Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The funds raised at these events will be used by the Brussels-based Demoucelle Parkinson Charity to fund the most-promising research projects, selected by its\u2019 own experts and in partnership with the Michael J.
